RUK’s Mast Head float has been designed to help new and trainee sailors gain confidence on the water by reducing the potential of a dinghy / small sail boat capsizing completely
They can also help make capsize recovery easier and quicker
The Mast Head float is inflated quickly and easily by a twist lock valve and secured to the top of the mast by the integrated eyelets in the float.
In the event of a capsize situation the float provides buoyancy to the mast top to help try and arrest a complete capsize of the dinghy.
This Mast Head float cannot guarantee 100% protection against capsize and inversion – it will be dependant on water conditions at the time of use – tide , wind , swell and sea state. Using the float is at your own risk and responsibility and it should be checked prior to use that it is fully inflated.
This size is best suited to small single handed dinghies such as Optimist , Pico etc.
It is NOT designed as a personal flotation device and accordingly should never be used for that purpose
